The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) is committed to creating and maintaining a campus where all who participate in USG classes, programs and activities, perform work, or provide services can learn and work together in a safe and secure environment. To that end, USG, with the support of our nine partner institutions, has implemented a policy requiring all students, faculty, and staff to have both a valid USG photo ID card and an active USG login. USG ID cards and USG logins are necessary to identify and authenticate students, faculty, and staff for safeguarding against inappropriate usage of campus technology.
Services Requiring Valid USG Photo ID Cards & Active USG Logon IDs
Students, Faculty, and Staff must have a valid USG ID card and an active USG Login in order to access the following:
- IT Equipment Loan (laptops, cameras, etc.)
- Open Computer Labs
- Library Workstations/Colab
- Computer Classrooms

New Incoming Students
Welcome to USG!
Your USG Login is directly linked to your USG ID card and your SG number.
Please stop by the BSE Mailroom (Building IV 1316) to claim your USG ID card.
Once you receive your USG ID card, please visit the USG Login Self-service portal using your SG number (found on your USG ID card) to claim your USG login and to set up your password.

Your USG ID card and USG login will persist from semester to semester as long as you remain an active student with your home institution and are taking classes at the USG campus.
