The Graduating Student Leader of the Year Awards, previously known as the Student Leadership & Service Awards, were established to recognize outstanding graduating students for their leadership, service, involvement, and dedication to the student experience and community at USG.  The selected students will be celebrated at the Student Leadership and Service Awards in early May 2026.  Nominations will open in February 2026 and are due on March 31, 2026.

Criteria

  • Outstanding leadership of peers at USG
  • Demonstration of teamwork and collaboration competency
  • Significant involvement in USG clubs or organizations
  • The motivation of fellow students to support USG's mission and vision

Eligibility
To be considered for this award, nominees must be graduating students (graduating Fall 2025-Summer 2026) enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate academic program offered at USG during the current academic year.

Selection
Staff, faculty, and students are asked to submit nominations for this award. Multiple nominations per person are allowed. Students may not self-nominate for this award. A Student Affairs and Career Readiness Committee will make the final selection of award recipients. Two undergraduate and one graduate student will be selected.

Award winners will be asked to give remarks at the Student Leadership & Service Awards.

Deadline
The deadline for submission of nominations for the 2024-2025 Graduating Student Leader of the Year Awards is March 31, 2026. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
