Open Wall Policy

USG Policy 1 (2.00) | Approved July 2018, Amended 2026

  1. Purpose and Applicability

    This policy outlines the practices and rules for making use of the Open Walls on the USG campus. These rules of use apply to all members of the USG community including students, faculty, staff and community members.

  2. Definitions
    1. Open Wall: dry-erase walls in publicly accessible locations throughout campus.
  3. Policy Statement
    1. Open Walls invite all students, faculty, and staff to express themselves on topics, issues, trends, news events or challenges of general interest. Open Walls are an open forum to express ideas and information and pose or answer questions.
    2. Postings should be brief, clear and related to the weekly topic.
    3. Open wall content will be reviewed and updated regularly and at the discretion of the unit/s responsible for maintaining the open wall. 
    4. Commercial advertising, threats of physical violence, and unlawful harassment are not permitted on Open Walls.
