The Ocean Bowl Games is a hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and eSports program for youths, ages 8 to 14. Held at The Universities at Shady Grove campus by the non-profit Steam Your Dreams, the event blends physical sports, scavenger hunts, and educational brain games with 3v3 eGaming tournaments.
 
This event is open to children 8-14 years old.
 
How the Games Work
Participants compete in teams in specialized, curriculum-integrated video games and physical activities.
  • Core Video Games: Kids play custom-built and educational competitive titles such as Aquaball Clash, Ballin Out, and Scuba Attack.
  • STEAM Activities: Alongside digital play, students explore coding, robotics, and Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) stations.
  • Physical & Mental Challenges: The competition also features scavenger hunts and physical sports to ensure a well-rounded and active event.
