We are pleased to announce the rollout of the USG Managers Toolkit, an initiative designed to strengthen your effectiveness as managers, and facilitate a culture of collaboration and communication. This toolkit is intended to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to help you excel in your managerial roles and, in turn, significantly enhance the overall employee experience within the Universities at Shady Grove (USG).

The USG Manager's Toolkit is a comprehensive resource containing human resources workflows, guidelines, and other essential information. It is organized around the employee life cycle, ensuring that as supervisors and managers you can effectively support your team from onboarding to departure and everything in between.

Where To Find The Toolkit?

The Manager's Toolkit is organized in BOX. It is confidential and you need to use your UMD directory login to access it. Please note that the USG Manager's Toolkit is supplemental to the University Human Resources (UHR) Supervisor's Toolkit and can be utilized by managers/supervisors at all levels within USG for self-study, onboarding, or as a reference for immediate information. We believe this toolkit will be a valuable resource for all managers. Please be advised that the Office of Strategic Human Resources will be conducting training sessions in the near future to provide a comprehensive overview of the toolkit's content. However, the toolkit is designed to be self-explanatory and user-friendly, and we strongly encourage you to explore and familiarize yourselves with its contents.
