This position is located at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) in Rockville, Maryland.

The Coordinator, Campus Scheduling and Space supports campus-wide scheduling operations and space utilization processes. This role focuses on implementing established scheduling protocols, maintaining accurate space data, coordinating small operational projects, and providing analytical support for space-related decisions under the direction of the Assistant Director. The position serves as a central operational resource for academic scheduling and space coordination while escalating complex or strategic matters as appropriate.

Physical Demands:  Work is performed primarily in an office environment but may require work in the field where the incumbent may be required to perform tasks in hazardous or irritating environments, and may be required to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One (1) year of scheduling or project planning experience.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of academic advising and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of post-secondary educational opportunities and financial-aid.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.

Additional Job Details

Preferences: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience, including experience with computer software and applications, such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Event Management Software, etc.
  • Working experience in AutoCAD
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Ability to be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management skills, and the ability to manage complex timelines and multiple projects.
  • Interpersonal, communication, time management, and customer service skills.
