MEET the infosci @ shady grove team
The InfoSci @ Shady Grove Team is committed to helping its students from admission to graduation by guiding them through important processes, policies, and procedures. In addition, the Team works with students to give them the tools they need to survive and thrive in the industry after graduation. The Team is comprised of three enthusiastic members from diverse backgrounds who enjoy working with students and helping them succeed both academically and professionally.
Ramita Shrestha, Program Manager of InfoSci @ Shady Grove
Ramita Shrestha is the Program Manager for the Bachelor of Information Science at the University of Maryland, Shady Grove Campus. In this role, she leads the program’s administrative operations, including student recruitment and admissions, program administration, funding management, data analysis, and reporting. Ramita holds a Master’s degree in Information Management with a focus on strategic and project management, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science from the University of Maryland. Ramita is comitted to supporting student success and ensuring operational efficiency within the program.
Jacob Davidson, Academic Advisor & Outreach Coordinator
Jacob has been the Academic Advisor and Outreach Coordinator for the undergraduate Information Science program at the Universities at Shady Grove campus since Spring 2022. In this role, he serves as the primary contact point for current and future students; he often likes to say that if a student has a question, he's probably the first person they should ask. Before all this, he worked in international education, working with international students studying in the U.S. and sending Americans abroad. He has also worked in a wide range of fields, from his first job as a party DJ to various levels of government. He attended Shippensburg University, earning his Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & International Studies.
