Program Overview

The Technology Innovation Leadership Minor prepares students to effectively create and navigate a climate of technological innovation within an organization or team. By combining creative leadership, design thinking and an understanding of socio-technical challenges, students learn to tackle large-scale problems related to technology innovation.

The five-course, 15-credit minor incorporates innovative thinking approaches that help students create new ideas and solve socio-technical challenges through leadership experiences. Coursework examines how leaders and social entrepreneurs strategically use innovative technologies and information to address social, cultural and environmental problems.

The minor is available to UMD undergraduate students at the College Park and Shady Grove campuses. Courses can be completed 100% online.
