The B.S. in Accounting offers a curriculum that includes financial planning, budgeting, accounting systems, financial management controls, financial analysis of performance, financial reporting, internal and external auditing, and taxation. In addition to earning the B.S. from the University of Maryland, graduates acquire an excellent foundation for careers like public accounting, management, forensic accounting and consulting.
The B.S. in Accounting is offered through the University’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, which provides an inclusive learning environment that fosters intellectual discovery and equips students to assess complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
Admission Requirements
- Fall admission only
- Minimum 45 earned credits; 60 credits expected before entering the program
- Preferred minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Complete required gateway courses with a C- or better
- Complete applicable General Education and Smith School requirements
- Limited Enrollment Program with competitive admission requirements
