Program Overview

The B.F.A. in Art, Graphic Design Track at Salisbury University blends a strong fine arts foundation with cutting-edge digital and interactive design, preparing students for creative careers in today's visual world.

Students develop skills across a wide range of design areas, including branding, web design, user experience (UX) design, package design, illustration, and digital media. The curriculum emphasizes both creative exploration and strategic thinking, helping students learn not just how to design—but how to design with purpose.

Students learn from experienced faculty, industry professionals, and guest speakers while gaining real-world experience through the SU Graphic Design Agency, a student-run, faculty-led design agency focused on professional practices, client work, and civic engagement. They also complete a required, semester-long professional internship with a design studio, agency, or marketing firm and showcase their work in a senior capstone portfolio exhibition. These experiences allow students to build strong professional portfolios, gain confidence, and make valuable industry connections while still in college.
