The B.A. in Communication offers a curriculum in the Communication Studies track, with a specialization in Media and Digital Communication. Coursework focuses on traditional and digital media communication with courses such as strategic communication, event planning, filmmaking, social media analytics, and more. In addition to earning the B.A. from the University of Maryland, graduates acquire an excellent foundation for careers in business, government, health, education, social and human services, social media management, film production, graphic design, and more.

Students entering the program at Shady Grove will have completed their associates degree, or have earned 50-60 transferable credits from a community college or accredited 4-year institution. The program can be completed full-time, or part-time. Admissions for University of Maryland Shady Grove undergraduate programs are through the University of Maryland, College Park Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
