The Macklin Center for Academic and Leadership Success provides help with resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, LinkedIn, and graduate school preparation.

Professional Preparation Appointment Types Overview

  • Resumes and Cover Letters: Help build, review, and polish students' resume by providing guidance on best practices and techniques.
  • LinkedIn Profile Reviews: Support students in developing main LinkedIn profile sections, focusing on the Headline, About, and Experience.
  • Interview preparation and Mock Interviews: Review techniques to answer common and behavioral-based interview questions.
  • Graduate and Professional School Preparation: Helps students gain essential insights into applying for graduate school, such as writing personal statements.
  • Career Readiness Skill Building Workshops

Professional Preparation Appointment Policies

Students are welcome to schedule four (4) professional preparation appointments a semester. Alumni who have graduated in the past year can schedule four (4) professional preparation appointments a semester.

USG Career Closet

The Macklin Center oversees the Career Closet, open to students at USG! Select clothing items for upcoming career fairs, interviews, and professional development opportunities. Listed below is key information about the closet:

  1. The closet is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday in Building IV. Visit Room 1322 and ask a front staff worker for assistance with accessing the closet.
  2. Students can choose up to three (3) clothing items and one (1 ) accessory per visit. Students are able to visit the closet twice (2) a semester.
